WE HAVE LIVED IN THE CONTINENT OF EXTREME ILLUSION

By Mauro Marturano

80 years without wars, 80 years without destruction and the reconstruction that follows. 80 years in which we have enjoyed benefits that people in other parts of the world never had. 80 years in which we believed that pensions would exist forever (and provide us with a decent standard of living). 80 years in which we went to the hospital for a cold and expected to be treated (and when they charged us a €25 co-pay, we got pissed off). 80 years in which we trusted our governments because, all things considered, it suited us, in our being parasites. 80 years in which we believed in the stability of our banks and our currency because “we are a serious continent; we’re not Argentina or Venezuela” (countries with resources dozens of times greater than ours).

80 years in which, ultimately, we believed in PROMISES.

Promises that could only ever be empty promises, because they were built on utterly ridiculous structural foundations, such as fiat money.

Fiat money, by mortgaging real rights that have not yet been created, inevitably entails cyclical cannibalisation, recurring cannibalisation, and progressively deeper cannibalisation.

Today, it is our turn, no ifs, ands or buts.

But they have to prove it to us.

Because if they don't prove it to us, if they don't prove it to you, given that, on average, YOU ARE 😂 thick, you would get pissed off. 😂

I understood the game years ago, so I don't get pissed off.

Quite the opposite... I am grateful.

Because I was given decades of prosperity.

And I only get pissed off at the crude, pathetic ways in which we are going to reach the end.

I wouldn't have needed excuses.

I wouldn't have needed COVID.

I don't need them to blow up a power plant.

I don't need this low-grade show.
