TO UNDERSTAND WHY CRYPTO EXISTS, YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE MONETARY PROBLEM
By Mauro Marturano

And, to understand the monetary question, you need to understand the enormous imbalance between the paper in circulation — deposits, stocks, bonds, derivatives, etc. — which, if converted at more or less stable prices, gives you the ability to obtain a certain quantity of real goods, and the real goods that can actually be extracted, processed, transformed and transported.
Knowing full well that the speed of money creation and circulation has nothing to do with the speed of creation and circulation of goods.
This imbalance is the premise behind the messes we see on our screens.
And it's also the premise behind the existence of crypto.
Crypto necessarily needs to be framed within the destructive process we're immersed in when it comes to traditional currencies.
There was no way we could have arrived at a different point, given the principles with which money was created and is managed.
An INEVITABLE fate.
CRYPTO IS...
- A parallel system to the traditional system
Today the traditional system works. So... what the hell is crypto even for?
For nothing, today.
But if, by chance... by chance... all the certainties described above — open banks and the relative strength of the European currency — were to fail, might a parallel system come in handy?
Everyone can answer for themselves.
But if you think that banks will always be at your disposal, as has been the case until now, and that the currency will remain what it is today, well... maybe you're headed down the wrong path.
- A Noah's Ark built by the financial dome
Crypto is a Noah's Ark that the financial dome built for itself because it knew what it would do with fiat currencies.
An INEVITABLE fate, because everyone loves issuing money.
Obviously, the proliferation of an immense number of cryptos serves that same dome's purposes.
Because, if there had only been three, getting it wrong would have been practically impossible.
But if there are 5,000 of them...
- An extension of fiat money
For the reasons stated in the previous point, crypto is an extension of fiat money.
But an extension that comes after.
That is, a nail growing over a broken nail.
- They are not an alternative model
Crypto is not an alternative model, and even less a grassroots model.
An alternative model would be barter.
But with barter you could do a hundredth of what you can do today.
Complaining is fine when valid alternatives are put forward and when you're consistent with what you propose.
- A technological architecture passed off as something new
Crypto is a technological architecture passed off as new, whereas the dome's only real interest would be changing the unit of measure of things.
In other words, crypto represents a technological revolution used — or, at the very least, interpretable — as a tool to change the numbers and liquefy credits.
- The solution to the problem of the monetary hangover
Crypto, ultimately, is the solution the dome has found — together with all the others we see every day — to tackle the enormous problem of a monetary hangover that has lasted decades and that needs to be scaled down in terms of monetary credits.
Today I think we're steps away from a third, immense QE.
Quantitative 😂 easing, that's what the useless experts 😂😂 call it.
The first two rounds of quantitative easing — vulgarly put, saddling citizens with debt or, alternatively, flooding the world with dollars, decreasing their value and thus eroding the value of our savings that predated the hangover — happened alongside the Lehman Brothers farce and the great shame of 2020.
Banks were empty boxes before Lehman and they were still empty boxes right after.
I think we're very close to a third QE.
But this time it'll be different.
While the first two were "conventional" issuances, this third one will be a hybrid issuance.
That is, in the next QE, the crypto world will also come into play.
A third QE that, as you well know, I think could come about following a nuclear event in Europe: certainly localized, certainly blown out of proportion.
And which, with just as much certainty in my prediction, will lead to the definitive cannibalization of Europe.
