FIAT MONEY HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL TOOL

By Mauro Marturano

Let's assume we're at year zero of a new economic/social/financial/political system. And let's assume that, in this new system, there's no currency and everything is exchanged through barter.

Aside from the speed of any exchange, which would become biblical, if someone were born in a part of the world lacking certain natural resources, they'd have a hard time getting them. And, aside from that, since there would surely be people without the will to work or unable to work, it's clear there'd be a very serious risk of seeing theft every second, in every corner of the Earth.

Those who don't have or can't do would create constant unrest.

Question: can we even remotely think that such a system would be optimal?

So what are the benefits of fiat money?

One benefit is certainly the ease and speed with which goods can be exchanged, without wasting time. Because the unit of measure is universally accepted, at least locally and, in the current system, globally.

Another benefit, a very important one, is that fiat money creates an illusion that keeps us away from the law of the jungle we'd tend toward if fiat money didn't exist, as in the case described above.

And this is fairly easy to understand (provided one wants to), but hard to internalize. Understanding and internalizing are two fairly different things.

Since money is seen, through faith, as an end in itself, the ignorant masses focus entirely on that and not on the serious things, which are resources.

Resources thus take a back seat.

We focus on money and not on real resources.

And why is that?

Because faith, beliefs, lead us to equate the strength of money with the strength of resources. And this happens because we make an UNFORGIVABLE mistake: we think that, having money, we'll surely be able to exchange it for real goods.

Explained this way, fiat money seems like a great solution compared to the initial scenario.

Few messes at the door-to-door level. A bit of geolocalized mess in order to steal resources that SUPPORT THE ILLUSION — which is what our world has done for decades.

But, all things considered, a large chunk of the world's population lives in a state of apparent serenity.

So where's the problem?

The problem is very simple.

We're in a very advanced phase of this system, which has been the real means of controlling a significant part of the population.

When people keep talking to me about future control, you make me feel so tender 😁.

Because you talk about it as if we hadn't always been controlled.

And do you know why you never thought you were being controlled?

Because either you don't understand, or you don't internalize 😂 what's written in these texts.

The fact that we're in a very advanced phase means the illusion out on the streets is at an all-time high.

That is, there's extraordinary and, NOW, absolutely MISPLACED trust in the fact that, having money, you'll surely find goods.

This is why all assets have exploded in value.

You want real gold?

Give me more scrap paper.

And every day you give me more of it, because your paper is worth less every day.

And it's worth less because the illusion grows every day.

And the illusion grows every day because, every day, it's very easy to deceive people by creating money that, obviously, has no backing, or very little of it.

It's clear that at the start of such a system everything works wonderfully, or almost.

The dirty work — working and extracting, transforming and creating real resources — is done by few.

But then, in the overall system, an excessively large mass of money gets created, because whoever has the power to create money takes it for themselves.

And so the areas and people to be subjugated must increase.

They must increase because that labor, those people and those resources are THE BACKING OF THE MONEY.
